Elected Officers

The elected officers of the Northwest Valley Branch play a vital role in the success of this branch in fulfilling its mission of advancing education and equity for women and girls.  The elected officers for 2009-2010 are pictured below with descriptions of their jobs in the branch.

Linn bastian, Co-president

The President, or President's delegate, shall officially represent the Branch in activities of the Association. The President shall be governed by the Branch bylaws and policies and be responsible for submitting such reports and forms as required by the Association and state

Deborah Channell, co-president

Betty eldridge, president elect

The President Elect performs the duties of the president in all cases when the president is unable to serve; and assume the office of the president the second year.

Patty Lang, co-program vp

The Program VP is third in line-of-succession to the presidency and serves as chair of the program development committee.

Barbara gobell, Co-Membership VP

She works with Co-Membership VP as recruitment director for new members, organizes new member orientation in the fall and spring, maintains accurate records regarding new members, and reports  appropriate information to the local, state, and national organizations.

The Finance VP is responsible for collecting annual dues and forwarding them to the Association and the state at the time specified by the Association; prepares monthly financial statements for Board of Directors meetings, and prepares a complete financial report for audit at close of fiscal year - June 30th.

The Corresponding Secretary writes a note of welcome to each new member; sends out invitations if the program chair requests it, sends thank you notes, maintains a file of all correspondence; and takes minutes in the absence of the recording secretary.

The Recording Secretary must attend all AAUW Branch & Board meetings.  She is responsible for taking & keeping the minutes & attachments of these meetings in a book. These records must serve as the Branch history & must be available for recalling past activities of the Branch.

The 2010 nominating committee wishes to present the names of these branch members who so willingly agreed to an elected position on the 2010-2011 board for AAUW NWV Branch.

These names will be presented at the February board and general meeting and voted upon at the March general meeting. Please be aware that at the presentation of names of potential officers in February, nominations from the floor may also be accepted with the full acknowledgement and written consent of the person named.
